جب نبی ﷺ اپنی نماز کی طاق رکعت میں ہوتے تو اس وقت تک کھڑے نہ ہوتے جب تک سیدھے بیٹھ نہ جاتے۔

عن مالك بن الحويرث رضي الله عنه : أنه رأى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي، فإذا كان في وِتْرٍ من صلاته لم ينهض حتى يستوي قاعداً.
مالک بن حویرث رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے نبی ﷺ کو نماز پڑھتے دیکھا، جب آپ ﷺ اپنی نماز کی طاق رکعت میں ہوتے تو اس وقت تک کھڑے نہ ہوتے جب تک سیدھے بیٹھ نہ جاتے۔

Mālik ibn al-Huwayrith (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I saw the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) pray and when he was performing an odd-numbered Rak‘ah, he would not get up until he had been settled in the sitting position.

Explanation تشریح

نبیﷺ کا یہ طریقہ تھا کہ آپ ﷺ پہلی رکعت سے دوسری رکعت کے لیے اور تیسری رکعت سے چوتھی رکعت کے لیے کھڑے نہیں ہوتے جب تک کہ مکمل طور پر ہلکا سا بیٹھ نہ جاتے اس بیٹھنے کو جلسۂ استراحت کہتے ہیں۔ آپ ﷺ کے اصحاب میں سے کئی لوگوں نے آپ ﷺ سے اس جلسے کے متعلق روایت کیا ہے۔

Explanation

It was part of the Prophet’s Sunnah that when he stood from the first to the second Rak‘ah or from the third to the fourth one, he would briefly settle in the sitting position first, before standing up. This is called “the sitting of rest”, and it was reported by a group of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them.
