عن أبي رِفَاعَةَ تَمِيم بن أُسَيدٍ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: انتهيتُ إلى رسولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو يَخطبُ، فَقُلتُ: يَا رسولَ اللهِ، رَجُلٌ غَريبٌ جاءَ يَسألُ عن دِينِهِ لا يَدرِي مَا دِينُهُ؟ فَأَقْبلَ عليَّ رسولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وتَرَكَ خُطبتَهُ حتى انتَهى إليَّ، فأُتِيَ بكُرسِيٍّ، فَقَعَدَ عليه، وجَعَلَ يُعَلِّمُنِي ممّا عَلَّمَهُ اللهُ، ثم أتى خُطبتَهُ فَأَتَمَّ آخِرَهَا.
ابو رفاعہ تمیم بن اسید رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا، درآں حالے کہ آپ ﷺ خطبہ ارشاد فرما رہے تھے۔ وہ بیان کرتے ہیں: میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ایک مسافر دین کے بارے میں سوال کرنے آیا ہے، اُسے نہیں معلوم کہ دین کیا ہے؟ وہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ خطبہ چھوڑ کر میری طرف متوجہ ہوئے، یہاں تک کہ میرے پاس آ گئے۔ پھر ایک کرسی لائی گئی آپ ﷺ اُس پر تشریف فرما ہوئے اور جو کچھ آپ ﷺ کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے دین کا علم دیا تھا، اُس کی مجھے تعلیم دی۔ پھر آپ ﷺ نے اپنا خطبہ پورا کیا۔

Abu Rifā‘ah Tamīm ibn Usayd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) while he was giving a sermon, and I said: "O Messenger of Allah, a stranger (meaning himself) has come to inquire about his religion. He is quite ignorant about his religion." So the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) interrupted his sermon and came to me. A chair was brought for him and he sat on it and started teaching me of what Allah has taught him. Then he resumed his sermon and completed it.

Explanation تشریح

یہ آپ ﷺ کا کمال تواضع تھا کہ ایک شخص اس وقت آپ کی خدمت میں آیا، جب آپ ﷺ خطبہ ارشاد فرما رہے تھے۔ وہ شخص کہنے لگا کہ میں ایک مسافر آدمی ہوں، جو اپنے دین کے بارے پوچھنا چاہتا ہے۔ نبی ﷺ اس کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور اپنا خطبہ چھوڑ کر اس کے پاس آ گئے۔ آپ ﷺ کے لیے ایک کرسی لائی گئی اور آپ ﷺ (اس پر تشریف فرما ہوکر) اس شخص کو تعلیم دینے لگے؛ کیوںکہ وہ شخص علم کی چاہت و محبت لے کر آیا تھا اور خواہش رکھتا تھا کہ دین کو سیکھے، تاکہ اس پرعمل کر سکے۔ چنانچہ نبی ﷺ اس کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور خطبہ چھوڑ کر اسے تعلیم دی اور پھر بعد میں اپنا خطبہ مکمل کیا۔

Explanation

An aspect of the humility of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) is shown when a man came to him while he was delivering a sermon and told him that he was a stranger who wished to learn about the religion. The Prophet gave him attention; he stopped his sermon and walked toward him. Then he was brought a chair to sit on, and he started teaching the man, because this man came with a desire to learn his religion in order to act upon it. After teaching him, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) continued his sermon.
