عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «نَحْنُ آخِرُ الأُمَمِ، وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ يُحَاسَبُ، يُقَالُ: أَيْنَ الأُمَّةُ الأُمِّيَّةُ وَنَبِيُّهَا؟ فَنَحْنُ الآخِرُونَ الأَوَّلُونَ».
ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”ہم سب سے آخری امت ہیں، اور سب سے پہلے ہمارا حساب وکتاب ہوگا، کہا جائے گا: امی امت اور اس کا نبی کہاں ہے؟ چنانچہ ہم ہی سب سے پیچھے اور سب سے آگے ہیں۔“

Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "We are the last of the nations, and the first to be brought to account. It will be said: Where is the unlettered nation and its Prophet? Thus, we are the last (in time) but the first (on the Day of Judgment)."

Explanation تشریح

نبی ﷺ نے خبر دی کہ آپ کی امت وجود اور زمانے کے اعتبار سے آخری امت ہے اور یہی وہ پہلی امت ہے جس کا بروز قیامت سب سے پہلے حساب وکتاب ہوگا۔ چنانچہ بروز قیامت کہا جائے گا: ”امی امت اور اس کے نبی کہاں ہیں؟“ یہ نسبت آپ ﷺ کے امی ہونے یعنی پڑھنے اور لکھنے سے ناواقفیت کی طرف ہے۔ چنانچہ انہیں سب سے پہلے حساب کے لیے بلایا جائے گا، ہم زمانے اور وجود کے اعتبار سے سب سے پیچھے ہیں، اور قیامت کے دن حساب وکتاب میں اور جنت میں داخل ہونے میں سب سے آگے ہوں گے۔

Explanation

The Prophet (ﷺ) informed that his nation is the last of all nations in existence and time, yet it will be the first to be called to account on the Day of Judgment. On that day, it will be said: Where is the unlettered nation and its Prophet?—in attribution to the Prophet's unlettered nature, as he neither read nor wrote. They will be called first to account—thus, we are the last in time and existence, yet the first to be brought to account on the Day of Judgment and the first to enter Paradise.
