عن عبد الله بن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال: «سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب بِعَرَفَاتٍ: من لم يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الخُفَّيْنِ، ومن لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ السَّرَاوِيلَ -للمحرم-».
عبد اللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے وہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو میدان عرفات میں خطبہ دیتے ہوئے سنا آپﷺ فرما رہے تھے: ”جس مُحرم کو جوتے نہ ملیں وہ موزے پہن لے اور جس کے پاس تہبند نہ ہو وہ شلوار پہن لے“۔

‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon at ‘Arafāt, in which he said: "Whoever does not find slippers or sandals (Na‘l) may wear leather socks (Khuff), and whoever does not find a waist sheet (Izār) may wear pants (Sirwāl).' He meant the pilgrim in the state of Ihrām."

Explanation تشریح

ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما بیان کر رہے ہیں کہ نبی ﷺ نے عرفہ کے دن مقام عرفات میں خطبہ ارشاد فرمایا اور اس میں لوگوں کو جوتے نہ ملنے کی صورت میں موزے پہننے کی اجازت دی اور اس میں یہ ذکر نہیں کیا کہ ٹخنوں کے نیچے سے انہیں کاٹ دیا جائے۔ اسی طرح آپ ﷺ نے لوگوں کو اجازت دی کہ جسے تہبند نہ ملے وہ شلوار ہی پہن لے اور اس میں بھی آپ ﷺ نے اسے پھاڑنے کا حکم نہیں دیا۔ یہ شارع (اللہ سبحانہ وتعالیٰ) کی پُر حکمت ذات کی طرف سے دی گئی ایک سہولت تھی۔

Explanation

Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the people on the Day of ‘Arafah while he was in ‘Arafat. He permitted them to wear Khuff in case they cannot find sandals or slippers, without mentioning cutting the socks below the ankles. He also permitted them to wear Sirwāl for the one who cannot find an Izār, without stipulating cutting the Sirwāl open, as a form of alleviation from Allah, the Exalted, the Most Wise.
