حج کے موقع پر یثرب (مدینہ) کے لوگ عقبہ میں آپ ﷺ سے ملے۔ پہلی بیعت میں بارہ آدمیوں نے بیعت کی، اگلے سال ستر سے زیادہ مردوں اور دو عورتوں نے آپ کی حفاظت کا عہد کیا، جس سے ہجرت کا راستہ کھلا۔

Men from Yathrib (Madinah) met him at Aqabah during Hajj. In the first pledge twelve men gave allegiance; the next year more than seventy men and two women pledged to protect him, which opened the way for the Hijrah.
